Cladding Dressing - Forever Black

Thought I'd share my experience with the "Forever Black" product some have talked about on here. I bought the stuff last year, but have only now gotten around to doing a full application. I did the front bumper fascia last summer, but wasn't really happy with the results so I didn't do any more. After "experimenting" with a few different application processes I regained my desire to complete the remainder of the truck.

This product lasts a LONG time! I did the front bumper last summer and after driving it all year (until Nov.) all it took was a fresh coat of wax to bring it right back up. However, it takes multiple coats of Forever Black (like 5-15, depending on the condition of your cladding) to achieve a streak free uniform finish. Then, a coat of wax to bring up the shine, or, no wax if you prefer the matte look.

I've got about 10 hours into it now and I'm almost done. Just the drivers side cladding to finish.

That's truly amazing !! Looks like it was painted... wow.

That looks great. I've just found a product that the finish looks almost identical but, it takes about 5 minutes to do the entire truck cladding. It's called Beyond Black by Surf City Garage. I've tried everything on mine and I finally said forget it with buying stuff so I drove down to Surf City Garage, they came out and put this Beyond Black on it, and I was shocked, it almost looks like it was painted black. You apply it much like you would armour all. Its water based so its NOT greasy and it stays on for awhile. After you wash it just reapply it. It works phenomenal for the tires too. Just my .02...

wow very nice! My front fascia is faded badly and I've been trying to figure out a way to bring it back with out painting it. I will keep my eyes open for this stuff

I bought mine at a pep boys but, not sure where else...try online, probably surfcitygarage.com or google it...it was like $14.99. WELL WORTH IT.

I've tried Back to Black, tire wet, armorall etc. They all looked good for about an hour before the streaks showed up. I will stop by Pep Boys this week and look for some Beyond Black. Price doesn't matter if it works!
