CO2 systems

Flipping through JC Whitney the other day (because I dig the product illustrations) and saw and ad for CO2 systems. They sell portions of intake tubing, fuel blocks, and halos that mount in front of the intercooler. I guess the idea is to pump CO2 through the components to cool the fuel, the intake charge and then dump the CO2 to atmosphere on the surface of the intercooler. Any body try this?

Re: CO2 systems

just for fun... we made up this thing last year that sat on top of the upper intake. it was 1inch deep x the outer measurements of the upper intake. then used co2 to make make up bricks of dry ice. left it on in the staging lanes. kept the laptop on and watched the intake temps hit minus 2 deg. we were launghing our butts off watching it. left the brick in palce to make a run. on return to the pits it was gone.
dont know if it helped us or not. but we were still laughing wondering if small bits were fallin out as it wnent down track leaving a trail of smoke like in the movie back to the future.

I do beleive that if we used the same brick installed into a box that wrapped an intake pipe we might see a difference. cant tell you were but i recall seeing a ecotec motor with real hi hp that had a setup like this using a co2 brick.

otherwise save you money like he said above.
