I have been experiencing difficulties with my Syclone. I have been getting a check engine light Code 43 for the past year. It usually comes on when the truck is warmed up, stays on for long periods of time and goes on and off intermittently. This occurs during any driving condition. I have changed the following: GM knock sensor, knock sensor wire to the computer, knock sensor cap, set timing connector, Conrad cap and rotor, distributor, plugs and wires, map sensor, O2 sensor, new chip from GM, changed computer but no luck, fuel pump, exhaust, all vacuum hoses are good, boost selenoid. Nothing seems to be rattling nad the torque convertor is good. Motor mounts are also good and down pipe is not hitting anything. Any help would be appreciated.

You just have to start diagnosing each system of the circuit, test the sensor with a dvom and make sure it's with in range, do a voltage drop on your circuit to the ecm and sensor and make sure there is not alot of resistance in wiring. We just got this problem today.
Im having a problem with code 43 on a locals truck. I know it's the knock sensor circuit is out of range, or is not reading the correct voltage to the ECM and so on. The light comes on and stays on after the truck is started. Considering we just installed a new GM knock sensor to filter some false knock, we wraped the threads around once with teflon tape then installed it hand tight. Started truck....... code 43, and wont clear. So...... then i gave it a 1/8 of a turn tighter and still comes on. Whats the damn deal does it have to be torqued at the 14 Nm that the service manual calls for to not through the code? didnt have a problem before with the old knock sensor besides picking up a hell of alot a false knock on shifts and intermitant driving.

i know on a regular s-10 there is a box on the firewall. skimmy black square. bolted to the firewall. from what i heard thats the esc module. i never really looked if my syclone had it
