Code Help?

I have 2 codes:
12-No reference pulses from distributor are reaching ECM.
42-Electronic Spark Timing is grounded or open, Malfunctioning HEI module can this.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Check this out.

Code 42 could be from this being disconnected:

"The ESC Electronic Spark Timing "tan wire with a black stripe" that everyone can't find when attempting to set their timing (s-series). Wire is under the carpet on the passenger side below the heater box. It is disconnected to set the timing, then reconnected."

Roger, is there a common problem for code 12?

You will always get a code 12 when you check for codes.
