That is part of the reason.

To have a smoother idle. Better mileage & so-on.:tup:

If you have desent flowing heads, the less duration is needed to make good power.

It's all in the combination of your build.

IIRC, some guys are running as wide as 122 of LSA on there LS turbo engines.

Now up in atlitiude running above 5000 feet your in a whole new ball game! We all found that out during the last nat's here in Denver. I personaly go with higher duration .... "at altitude it seem's time help's more than lift".My personal opinon.1st I love the sound and easier on springs. Most use a 3000 stall any way with our truck's.However I don't trust the crank after 5500. So there is defiantly a sweet spot in your rpm range that your looking for depending on the amount of air or atomsphere you have available.With that been said .
Personally I look for a cam that has a longer duration on the exhaust than intake and sometimes more lift on the exhaust. Changing your center lobe can greatly change the amount of cylinder volume in and out based on the Cam to piston timing. I have herd of some guys running cams that allow the pressure of the turbo to assist with the exhaust of the cylinder. opening the intake valve 1st cause more of the explosion in the cylinder to travel into the exhaust.Some old schoolers use to use a 1.6 Rocker ratio on just the exhaust valves and changing the timing on the chain.

PS.If you use a ball barring turbo or a little turbo you'll need the cam to come in quicker cause the turbo will come into play quicker..It all has to match.
