Re: custom made 22" wheels

That looks pretty cool but it's no where high enough :(. I'm still waiting for someone to roll something more like this or higher :):

I would do it to my own truck but I don't have Benjamins to spend on it like you guys do !

Have to agree to each there own but they look a little big, the black center def hides some of size, but it's whatever makes you as an owner happy. Must here build there trucks for themselves and what makes them happy not for what others think.

The rims are deffinatly nice and they do compliment the big scoop but seeing Tys close to earth is easier on the eyes. I think first gen donks can look pretty sick...

Quoted from the ebay ad:

"This car is completley customized and one of a kind it turns heads everywhere u take it."

Yeah, it turns everyone's heads because everyone wants to see what a waste of 40K in money looks like and how it can make any car look like dogsh*t. But, that's just my :2cents:

To each his own I guess. I'm a big believer in form follows function, so the biggest I'd go are 19's with the corvette brakes to match. Personally I'm not a fan, but then again it isn't my truck. :2cents:

Re: custom made 22" wheels

I guess the only thing that matters is that I like my truck.

You can't loose with 22"s.
I like the wheels, particularly the staggered offset but as Chip Foose would say, it's all in the stance. If your going for looks then you may want to lower the truck 2" inches in the back and another 1" in the front and buy a spare set of cladding arches because they will rub...

I'm not sure about the 5" cowl hood for our little v6 engines. Kind of reminds my of the stealth fighter hood seen in the Kenny Bell catalog. I think they had an A/A intercooler mounted on top of the engine....

Overal it's a damn clean truck. Theirs a white/white on twinkies as well

Re: custom made 22" wheels

Locally I've seen many ty's with 20"+. It really is a common theme in Cal. Remember that many folks here (cal) don't give a rat's ass what it will run in the 1320. Some don't even care that there is a site dedicated to them. I've met original owners who have never been on this site.

Back in the old days it was all about cruising, but the car's have to have the whole package. The wheels, the paint, and the motor. It was just about cruising. I doubt he will be taking it to the track on 22's. I personally think it looks good.
If some of you have never been to California. Let me tell you that you will see some weird things done to cars. Almost every car in the hood has rims. Doesn't matter if cost $500 or $50K. Ice cream trucks have rims and so do short buses. Let's not forget the mail jeeps.

Re: custom made 22" wheels

Not my dig but it doesn't look too bad if thas' what'cha like rollin' do it all day every day. I'd rock the 18"s of the billet aluminum SyTY wheels myself IF I had that kinda dough to drop on some shoes & the rubbers + the expensive big brake kits with a 4-6piston caliber ;)
