Defective Oil Pan Gaskets

Anyone else had trouble with Fel Pro Oil Pan gaskets spliting down the middle of the rail. It completely blew out of the side of my block causing an oil leak. Pulled motor and bought a new gasket, torqued it down evenly, pulled pan off again to check it and it was also cracked
Any alternatives to Fel Pro? Anyone else have this happen?

how much are you tourqeing the bolts to?

get a gm gasket

never had a problem with em
they are metal reinforced on every bolt hole
not that much more $

If youre splitting the gasket youre tightening the bolts WAY too tight.

Couldn't find torque spec so I used around 15 ft.lb. Guessing it is should probably be less maybe even inch pounds????
