Re: DIY ABS delete parts

A double flaring tool, a line bender (both of these are rentable tools at the chain stores), a small tubing cutter, a 3/16" brake line "T", 3/16" brake line for the front brakes, a 1/4" brake line for the rear ones and last but not least, an extra 3/16" line fitting. I had to buy a special "close quarters" line bender when I did mine since the "T" was so close to my control arm:

When it is all said and done, you will have three brake lines. I bought the 3/16" one a little on the long side since I knew that I was going to need the "stubby" pictured above. That rinky dink line is the reason that you need the extra 3/16" line fitting. Because you will only be able to use ONE of the fittings that comes on the line for the front brakes... The reason is, the combination valve uses a larger fitting than comes with the brake line. Take a look and you'll see what I'm talking about. I ended up cutting off one of the proper sized fittings off my ABS and reused it when I did mine.

With all the time and tools it takes to make up the lines you would probably be better off waiting until Hood makes another batch

it is worth it to wait for Hoods kit.

I hand bent the "rinky dink" line as Mike called it and had no other issues.
It took longer to get the new lines threaded into the dist block than anything on the entire install.

Mechanically it can be done in less than a half hour, but you have to bleed out the brake system afterwards and I flushed mine at the same time so it took a couple hours of up and down off the floor.
