Re: Doghouse Nomination: Will Robbins

Not speaking on your behalf or at least taking the time to try to prove your case to make an atempt to stay out of the doghouse and shed some light on this for the community is certainly making him look the part in my opinion..

Re: Doghouse Nomination: Will Robbins

this is actually very simple. i have sold a rpm a2a, a set of atr headers, and numerous items on this site. everyone of my for sale posts say " if you are not satisfied sent it back and i will refund 100% of your money". using the excuse " that's what the previous owner told me" is bull shit. don't screw people just because you might have gotten screwed.know what you are selling . if you don't then don't sell it.and for gods sake have some balls about yourself , be a man and fix the damn problem. it's really that simple.

as far as the alky kit goes. he said it was installed and he could'nt tune it. that's why he sold it. also that it was 2-3 mos old. the sold date on the pac controller was a year and a half old. will robbins is a liar and a thief.
for those of you who know him and voted that he did nothing wrong. watch out he'll probably screw u next.they say friends will f@#k u first.

Re: Doghouse Nomination: Will Robbins

I agree that everyone should get another chance or at least a set time period to make thier case, but for people who are repeat offenders or have had compliants against them from more than a few people, there is very little left to convince others that the person in question is worthy of the communities trust. Speaking from expierence (getting in hot water shortly after joining) I have found that an explanation and apology where nessecary will usually solve many disagreements, and that agreements between the feuding parties will ensure that each person invovled will not walk away empty handed. I commend those that wish to give Mr. Robbins a second chance, but I feel that his actions (or there lack of) have proved what kind of business person he really is. I have nothing against Mr. Robbins since I do not know them, but as a third person observer I feel as though Cvcsmkr (can't remember name, sorry! ) has a strong case due to his timely responses to questions in regards to the product in question and any agreements that took place or should have taken place. I understand that shit happens when shipping items, but unless every effort has been made to ensure a products safety during the shipping process, the recipent is not at fault for any damage to the product before the box is opened at its final destination. I'm just throwing my :2cents: in, along with my opinion (no matter how wrong it may be:rotf: )

I voted for doghouse based soley on the fact that as of yet, he hasn't done anything about it. However I think we should give him time to make it right...you never whats really going on, he could be having a personal issue or something which is why he hasn't been able to deal with this (Not saying this is whats going on...but just trying to make a point.) If he doesn't at least try to clear his name sometime soon...well doghouse he goes, also remember that this was just brought to everyone's attention yesterday :2cents: ...

Personally, I'd give him some time to retort. He's got some heat on him now; people try harder when they're under scrutiny.

I don't know the guy, but I'd give him two weeks to respond to this thread and...

-if he does, give him a workweek after his response to make things right.
-if he doesn't, then give him the boot.

Perhaps he doesn't even realize this thread is going on yet.

My :2cents:

If I sold a known good turbo that was working fine on my truck, and the buyer said he took it apart and installed it so it was leaking oil,I'd probably say "tuff shit, dude"

Hard to make a call on this one......

what the hell is wrong with you people!!!
removing a housing or clocking is 100% part of a normal install.

and if it was known good then that would mean that a turbo shop looked at it and said "this is a good turbo". what you meant to say is it was working. and just beacause something is working does not mean there isnt anything wrong with it.
hell, my truck is working right now, but it has a buncha things wrong with it.

my previous post to another board member, who "thinks" i took apart turbo.

I dunno dude....all of the links you put up for us dummies to read speak of clocking only, not removing and swapping housings.

Re: Doghouse Nomination: Will Robbins

okay i will try to describe.
you have 6 bolts that hold turbine housing to chra, and 6 bolts from compressor housing to backplate.
clocking: you would loosen bolts then rotate housing to desired location. at this point the housing is just sitting there loose.
the only difference is i removed bolts all the way and pulled off old housing.
same thing if you loosen lugs on your rim, or you back them all the way out.

look at #17, all you do is put housing on and tighten bolts, thats it, he doesnt say to hook up to flux capacitor, or anything like that.

I think you got screwed man, I have been there before on the butt end of a transaction for $1800 that I bought from a member on here so I know where your coming from.

But calling people stupid and coming across as a complete asshole to the only people who might be able to help you correct the situation is not a very good idea. Did you start your conversation with Will like this? If so, then I don't blame him for ignoring you.

Re: Doghouse Nomination: Will Robbins

its just really irrating that people keep saying i took turbo apart.
that is not true and its has already been stated by more than 1 person, that swapping the housing could have not caused this damage.
the first time i got annoyed with Will was january 24th almost 2 months into this whole mess. that was the first and only time. rage is not the answer to get someone to work with you, i know that and demonstrated that thru the whole process with Will.

Both of these guys ****ed up...and now we all have to deal with it....Will, pay half or give him his damn turbo and that nice drainline back....You don't really deserve to keep it man....

Re: Doghouse Nomination: Will Robbins

I really hate getting screwed when I buy anything over the web no matter if it is ebay or where ever. I would recommend something that the bimmer forum guys did when i was a member there, they put up a thread and the admins made it as a sticky stating good sellers and bad. Once a week or a month what ever it was an admin added the comments to a big list. Example do a search for vinniety and you will see a listing of the people i sold items to and there comments. I guess it was similar to ebay feedback but just something to make the buyer feel a little comfortable. Just an idea. :D

Re: Doghouse Nomination: Will Robbins

on our local board there is a "trader" rating for part sales. You can give a positive or negative rating along with comments. It works pretty well.

Re: Doghouse Nomination: Will Robbins

some of the other forums have feedback rating built in.
nasioc.com
rs25.com

or everybody could put a link to their ebay profile in thier signature

yep, www.s10forum.com has it as well. Unfortunately I dont have the time to install it right now, its been brought up lots of other times.

Also, unless you are Will himself, there is really no need for anymore discussion to take place on here unless you have also been ripped off by Will. The exhaust housing topic is really beside the point now, thank you everyone for bringing both sides of the story to the table as well as your opinions.

Now lets wait to see if Will would like to comment or "make things right" with else buyer or if he will just let his fate be sealed by the forum members.
