East Coast Sy/Ty Extravaganza!

I am trying to find out if anybody would be intrested in some kind of SYTY east coast nationals. I would like to try and see if we could get everyone togther that live on the east coast and have and east coast nationals. I would like to see everyone from the eastcoast get together at a central location and have the same kind of fun as we did at the nationals last year. I am just try to find out if there is intrest in this kind of event. I have talkd to Morgan before and he seems pretty up for it and I will do everything myself if I have to get this thing up and running. We could have it in a central locaiton like Delware or Maryland. So that is doesn't have to be in NJ or we could have it in NJ at the famous Engishtown Raceway, but I want o try and see if there is any intrest in this kind of events to even start the leg work on it. I would think alot of guys would go. There is like 50 in Naste guys alone and we could get everyone together for this event. Well let me know guys if anybody is intrested from any syty group for this event

No doubt I'd be interrested in this. It's something I'd definately go to/help organize, if there was enough interest. A few months back there was another post about this, and tons of people showed interest, but it just died out.

Correction:

A "central location" is going to be North or South Carolina, not Maryland or Delaware.

Ill help out, but not if its gonna be a half assed job. If this is gonna get done, people from the locations it will be closest too need to be in the picture BIG TIME.

Well we can do it 2 different way we can have an east coast nationals or we could just do something big with naste and try to get alll the memeber from naste togther in one spot. I think and east coast event would be good becuase not everone want to go ut to KC, but still wants to see what it is like to have 50 or 60 trucksin one place. I will look into finding out info about locations and and tracks. Just let me know how everyone feels about it

if NC is the central point.......thats really easy for me.

if its gonna be an east coast thing, its not gonna be in NJ. I dont think FAST, GAST, CATS or anyone else down south is gonna travel all that way just to go to Atco.

Now perhaps if its Just gonna be a NASTE / Mid-Atlantic thing, thats a different situation. Unfortunately all this shit needs to be figured out first, and I dont know if I wanna deal with the stress of it all right now personally, so people gotta step up.

This time I'll put in for that week off for vacation...the sooner we can set this up, the better everybody's chances of being able to get the days off to go.

Morgan if I have to I will do this myself I wasn't asking you to do this I was just trying to fnd out if anybody was intrested. We have to first decide if this is going to be and East Coast event or a North East event. I want to here from some of the GAST FAST and CAST guys to see if there is intrest from there end or is it better just to get everyone in the North East togther. I think this could be alot of fun for everyone if we do it right. Lets let the people tell us what they want.

thats fine Bill, I wasnt insinuating that I was taking over or even interesting in that position, I was just trying to direct people as to what needs to be done first, which is what I stated above.

Its great that people are throwing out ideas, but whats MORE important is WHO is gonna show up to this, and WHEN is it gonna be?

If you want FAST or GAST to get wind of this, perhaps you should post in Southern Gatherings if you havent already.

Im more than willing to give you as much imput as I can and contact as many people as possible.

Here's an idea for starters. Setup a POLL, list all east coast clubs, NASTE, Mid-A, FAST, ect, and have them vote if they would go. Here is the scenario, we have 50 or so NASTE members, if EVERYONE voted (yeah right), thats 50 in favor of the northeast. Now FAST has like 10000000000000 members, but FL is quite large, and people have lives, so say 50 from FAST vote they will attend, well right there is a good balance and enough information to start realizing its needs to be somewhere in the middle (Carolinas). Also take into effect Mid-A and GAST, ect ect.

Now if the majority of people vote are from up north, well then maybe Cecil is a good location, and if then again, if FAST and GAST rock the vote, maybe it will be in Georgia. But the best way to start getting data in an organized manor is through specific POLL's. Make as many different ones as you want, make one for location, one for the date, one for who wants to race who doesnt, make a job list and so who is willing to do what, there are a MILLION things to be done, and in closing, Im going to suggest keeping it as far away from July as possible, cause my feeling is that more people are wanting to go the National event, and will blow this off, so April might be something shoot for, maybe early May.

Here's some of my opinions-

I say we keep it an Eastern thing rather then a North Eastern event. The more the merrier ::brews::

I think it'd be good if we made it a 3 day at most event. If it's a week long thing, that might be too much time to take off of work for some peeps once you factor in the travel time. I know a week + travel time would be too much for me.

I know I had more ideas before I made this post :banghead: but this hangover is getting the best of me right now. I'll post more later when I'm recoverd. :sleeping: :sleeping: :sleeping:

Bill. We spoke about location the other day. I think NC would be the place since there are so many Fla members. Looks like I will be trailering down.

damnit why is this thread messed, more than 12 people have posted, although it says 12, and 2 different people have posted after Bill, yet I cant see them.......ugh! well lets see if we can post whore up to page 2 and see what happens.
