electric fan vs. stock fan

Stock clutch fan will flow more than any electric fan I know of. Make sure your clutch is in good working order though.

Electric won't give as much airflow, taxes electrical system.

Gives you more room in the engine bay if you need it, and miniscule HP amounts possibly...

yeah, naturally i cant argue with the great brian green, so i will agree with him
I too have read that the possible HP gains is totally not worth the cost of the fans, drain on the electrical system, and the end result of poor cooling. Keep the stocker and put the money somewhere else.

I wasted the money on the S-10 black magic fan and it doesnt keep it cool...dont waste your money unless you have to have the room

maybe cause they want your money???? and maybe just maybe thiers might because it covers more area might keep a stock truck cool...but not with the air on in the summer...

My personal real life results:

13" SPAL fan + 14" SPAL fan < Stock Fan

Stock is gooder, and free since it's already on there.

Like John said, nothing is better than stock with the air on in the summer. Ccccccccchhhhiiiiilllllllllllyyyyyyyyyy...

then why does CAS sell them along with their radiators?

Because all the air to air units CAS sells require the use of an electric fan by design. IMHO, they should tell you that on their website - but they don't. An electric fan will never cool as well as a decent mechanical with a clutch - laws of physics - energy is lost in the conversion.

You can run the air-air setups with the stock mechanical fan, just takes some finagling (that's a technical term).
