do you have to pull trans out to remove engine out of my typhoon? I have exhaust ,turbo, radiator, battery, starter, distributor intake already removed. thanks for any help you can provide me. TYPHOON # 1720 I am going to stay with the 6 cyl.
See if you can get a service manual, sure helps a bunch when working on these things. And as above posts said, no. But if you have the engine out, might want to pull the trans to change out the pump seal and clean up the trans and transfer case.
Thanks for the info I have a chiltons manual and it said to remove both driveshafts dif and trans but I couldn't understand why. engine will be out tomorrow
If you want you can remove the engine mounts and lower the motor to get to the bell housing bolts. (Leave the frame pads.) Makes it easier but not sure if you actually save any time. Just a couple less busted knuckles and fewer swear words.
