I believe so... can't remember onthe SyTy's but definately on my Canyon and my old Bravada. They were both that way.

My SY & SHOs did that also. You can rewire them to be on regardless of the high/low settings. I havent done it on mine. Most states have laws regarding number of forward lights. Here in WY it's 4 total. I guess I wont be adding a rollbar with 4 KC Dayligthers on top

It is normal. My SY also does it. If you cut the + feed on your fog light and run it to the + feed at your marker light, it will take care of the problem. Make sure you tap into the marker light and not the signal. When you turn on your parking lights, your fog lights will turn on.

I think the best idea (though not the easiest) is to get a cheapo set of foglights, and use the wiring harness from the kit with the factory switch. That will allow you to use the foglights regardless of high/low beams, or if the park lights are on at all. On the S-15 I have a pair of 100W off road lights hooked up to one of those harnesses, and it's hooked up to the fuse block. Turn the key off, the lights go off. Nice way to avoid a dead battery:2cents:

I believe most state laws read no more than four lights on the same horizontal plane. So your headlights would be separate from your roll bar lights.

2. You should only use fog lights when it's foggy (Duh... but a fact ignored by 90% of American drivers who have fog lights)
Therefore, 1 + 2 = fog lights on only with low beams. Thats why all cars are made that way, regardless of cost.

Fogs going out when in high beam mode is 100% normal.

VA has had laws on the books for decades concerning supplemental lighting and it clearly states that any forward projecting lights other than clearance/marker lights must be turned off when the primary head lamps are on high beam. Im assuming that its either a fed law or enough of the other states have the same or similar laws which means the OEMs wire them to conform to the way the laws are written in most states and any state that doesnt have the fog light/low beam laws its not an issue in the first place.
I know WV has the same laws as far as fog/driving lights and Im pretty sure NC does too.
If youre concerned about the wiring supporting the load then rewire them using a relay so the light circuit just energizes the relay coil. We're talking milli amps to drive a relay coil so it wont hurt anything and run the fog light supply from the battery/alt through the contacts of the relay to the lights. Done.

I'll buy that. Out here there's fog and then there's FOG. I notice that I can turn the fog lights on without the head lights on at all, just that parking lights. Not that I drive the Sy in the fog but and interesting setup.
On the few vech. I've driven that had fog lights it seemed that with the fog lights on and the low beams on you had a wider field which I liked.
