If one of your driveshaft yokes breaks the loop catches the shaft and prevents it from driving into the ground and pole-vaulting the vehicle

Thanks, however, it won't "actually" cause the truck to pole vault in the air. If the front shaft breaks at the cardin joint (where they always break), it will spin around taking out the shift linkage and damaging the back section of the transmission and trans pan. It will also beat the crap out of the floor pan and make a heck of a racket.
Over the years, I've received occasional pictures of the front loop after the cardin joint broke on that front shaft. It beats them up pretty
The rear set completely captures the driveshaft if the front joint breaks. In 15 years of building these, I haven't seen or heard of a rear shaft break at the rear joint yet. (not saying that it's never happened......)
I had a picture several years ago from an owner who did break the rear shaft at the front joint. He had my loop set on and it worked perfect. It was beatup pretty bad and he elected to re-install it and keep it as a "battle-scar".

I don't believe that you will be able to reuse your existing propshaft because you're going to need a longer one in the front and a shorter one in the rear. (may be wrong)
Depending on the ujoint diameter of the new front shaft, you might be able to reuse the front loop.
The rear shouldn't be a problem.
