Front end problems still continue!!!

Well, after $900 of upper & lower control arm bushings, both tie rod ends and new swaybar bushings, the front end is still a little loose, but MUCH better than what it was. Still get a pull to the right, even after the alignment. Any ideas? By the time I get the money to do this, I'll probably have to do all this b.s. again! Ah the joys of owning a Ty while being bi-polar, & unempolyed at the same time. Thanks again, Josh

The part you replaced have help the situation, the remaing sloping is probably in the steering components: idler arm, pitman arm, steering box and steering shaft.

you mentioned both tie rod ends. do you mean all 4 of them? or just the outers?

dave is also right you still have all the steering components to replace.

Rotate tires just to see if that changes anything.Then buy new ones.

my syclone has a clunk in the front. it only does it when i back out of a spot with the wheel turned. it pulls to the right real bad. i changed the ball joints on the driver side. helped a little. then i changed the axle. that helped a little more. im going to change the ball joints and axle on the pass side next. cause after the above was done. the clunk is now on the pass side. i have seen axle get tight. and when your on the gas. it will let the truck pull to one side. you might want to have those checked out.also did you adjust the torsion bars to lower it? if you didnt do them equal. that will cause it to pull on you also

I belive the outers were shot. The torsion arms were adjusted for ride hieght correctly before alignment. Tires were rotated, and there IS a brake caliper sticking on the pass. side I think. Can't do anything else right now. Can't find a job anywhere, and now have NO money whatso ever. Will have to replace the whole front end when I get the $$$$.GOD I hate these damn mental illnesses.

Oh yeah, just so everyone knows, AVOID THE INTERSECTIONS OF RT.5 AND RT 14 IN RI AT NIGHT. Was leaving a friends house in Prov, and went rt 14 home. While waiting at the light for it to change, I was shot at! Granted it was a BB gun, but still! Now there's a BB mark behind the driver's door, showing they were trying to hit me. Thinking it was the guy in back of me, and not letting them get the 2nd shot in, I punched it, and hit the top of the hill on that section of road doing 80, and stayed on it till I got into Scituate, hoping a cop was doing speed checks, but flew the whole way uninteruppted. Just a warning to you guys, to avoid the area.

you can search on here but I just did the same thing to my dads 4wd blazer this weekend. only thing I didnt change was the a arms. steering box and shaft got replaced too. and it's still got a very small dead spot in the center.

you wanna make sure they set your alignment for a syty NOT A JIMMY. they are different, and it turns out that most alignment machines dont have the syty in their memory.

this was the case when I took one in a while back and the manager of tire world said I would have to pay for a custom alignment bc I brought my own specs in. get it done right for a syty and you will be much happier.

Been there and done all of that also ,the last thing to do is my gear box (quick ratio? ) or i might go wild and fab up a rack and pinion system when i have the time and money. welcome to the wonderful world of syty "wonder steer" because you'll always wonder where its going next.
BTW check for cracks in your frame rear of the lower control arm to frame area, mine was cracked on both sides, drill at each end of the cracks v-notch the entire crack and weld it up, add some gussets and think of a way to install a brace from one side to the other similar to the 4x4 version of s10 blazers it'll help.keep this in mind ...tuners do the same on the upper stut towers to "reduce flex"
on those rice rockets.

Whenever I get it aligned, I print out the "Brad spec" table and leave it on the seat. I've always gotten the report printout, showing that they used those numbers (even if it is entered as a Jimmy or Sierra or something else stupid). If they want to charge extra for a "custom" alignment, just tell them to use the stock specs then (print out both tables). Most likely they won't have those numbers, and they'll still have to "customize" for your stock alignment (i.e. if they want to be jerks to you, be a jerk to them). JS has also mentioned that in testing the coilover setup, he found that these trucks seem to feel better with as much caster as possible, and there aren't really any negative effects from doing so.

I've never had a place charge me extra for a "custom" alignment. Then again, I got the Firestone "lifetime alignment" for the price of a regular when I bought my tires. It costs about twice as much, but you can get it re-aligned whenever you want. With all the incorrect alignments they do on these, plus the crappiness of the S-10 front suspension, it's one of the best investments I've made. Even using the cheap alignment cost at the local small town shop to figure, I think I've gotten the full price's worth (besides the fact that I paid half that).
