Frustrated

That's it, I'm fed up. After driving around for almost 5 hours, going in a 150 mile radius of this town, I'm done parts running.

I went out on a mission to get a Conrad cap/rotor, Taylor or MSD plugs that were specific to a sy/ty, or that would even work, for that matter, AC Delco CR42TS, dextron III transmission fluid with lubegard, a heater core, and possibly a new transmission pan with a plug installed in it for a Typhoon.

I came back with the spark plugs on order, since I found them for $1.07 a piece less than a mile from my house. But they are on order, not in my hand. I also managed to find a heater core for $55.00 with a lifetime warrantee at Schucks, so if it ever leaks again, I can get a new one free.

All other parts couldn't even be ordered by any of the shops and got me funny looks when I asked for the stuff. I'm done. I need an online store that will have all of this crap in stock all the time, even though I have to order it and wait a few days. 3 days for a part isn't that bad because I can order the stuff on Monday and do everything on the weekend. The shops around here can't even order Taylor or Conrad items... It's a small city with what seems to be the least-stocked, worse-run auto store for thier respected chains. I might as well live in Africa looking for these parts...

Anyway, I need an online auto parts store where I can get all these types of things, possibly including the fluids.

If anybody has part numbers for the Taylor wire kit to buy, please post it. I found the conrad part numbers, but not the wires. Also, what fuel filter should I get. The only thing I got from the search function was FRAM, and I KNOW that isn't the right information. What brand of Dextron III should I get for the transmission fluid, what brand filter? I can find a lot of this information using the search function, but they never give specific brands to use, and I always seem to find contradictory information, mobile1 atf pros and cons, as just one example.

If anybody has bought a transmission pan with a plug that works, let me know where you got it and what it was. I would like it. I also need the gasket for it.

I don't even know, I'm just frustrated. I miss the big city and I'm agitated because I want to run datamaster, but don't have the stuff here for it yet.

EDIT: I almost forgot my side marker is out and nobody had the bulb, including the two GM dealers I stopped in at yesterday. A PC194 and nobody had it in stock! roflmao

for the tranny pan: TCI alum. pan from Summit works well ............ may require some sanding/trimming on one edge (can't remember which) not much though .125? also got the Taylor wires from them...

I already bought the CR42TS plugs. Why are the NGKs considered better in your view? I got the CR42TSs for $1.07 a pop.

You may want to do some research for NGK plugs in the archives. They are far superior to the 42TS's in terms of efficiency and performance under boost. There is a part number listed in the archives here (I had vortec heads so the part number is different for those vs stockers).

If you drive the truck hard, I think you will be happier with the performance of these plugs vs the stockers.

Alright, thanks for the info. I'll do some datamaster runs and wait until these plugs get fowled and try out the NGK U5/U6's next.

Where can I get some Conrad caps/rotors? Lubegard? Transmission fluid brand recommendations? Transmission and fuel filters?

That's what I have: http://www.centergc.org/images/misc/Mike/gallery/syclone2932/IMG_0666 Pan is nuke proof IMO. You can still use "regular" filters even though it is a deeper pan because the filter rests on top on the "pins" cast on the bottom of the pan. If you have to do any trimming (I did), it will be on the torque converter inspection plate side.

I also have NGK UR5's part number 2771 in my truck and I will never run the tried and true AC Delcos again... Truck even idles better with them. HTH's

Well, i'm in WA too so this should help...

Conrad items can be found and usually have our part# at GI Joes.

NGK plugs are easier to find I think (work better too IMO) and can be found at NAPA.

MSD are to expensive for me and Taylor's work find...part # can be found at sytyauthority.net (Taylor SpiroPro: 74X32 *note) read the notes about what color you want. I just get them from Summit or call Mike Hood help a sytyer out.

Napa also has fuel filters I think that are decent.

I had the same irritations when i first looked for everything, but I got it all down now.

PM me and let me know if i can help more with local stuff...i now you are stuck east of the mountains and I know how it is over there so if you need anthing on the westside, let me know and i'll make a run for ya.

Unfortunately the nearest GI Joes is 2 hours away...

Yeah, it's pretty barren over here. After I figure out what is going on, I might give you a call or PM about what I need on the west side and then I could plan a trip. Thanks for that offer, I really appreciate it (I love the syty cult).

Yep, give Mike a call. Like Jason said, you'll get your stuff all in one box in a few days.

BTW odiwik, Who are you? What is your name? Do you live in WA?? Where? Just wondering since someone local might be able to help you out...

Another vote for Michael Hood. He can get anything you want and 9 times out of 20 he'll have it in stock. Great shipping prices also.
