Gauge Question

I bought a mechanical oil pressure and coolant temp gauge off a friend, and I was wondering were would be the best spot to hook them up at. I did not know if I could unhooked my stock stuff if that would set a check engine light or anything else. I think that there is a spot on the block that i could put one or not?

For coolant temp. I think there is a port/plug on the front of the lower intake, opposite the fact. sender. As for the oil pressure, I tapped mine into the remote oil filter assembly. There's a plug on the side that comes out. Should be able to hook it up there. Leave your stock stuff hooked up. HTH

Hey Buddy,

I will be doing the same thing. The mech H2O T guages have long bulbs on them. Does the port U mentioned in the Lower Intake have a fairly deep entry to allow this long bulb to go all the way in ?

I always like to stick mine all the way in.

Well as far as going all the way in, I think it was about 1" to 1 1/2". Can't really recall the depth as mine were electrical (shorter) and it was awhile ago. Anyone else got this info?

I just installed my Auto Meter water temp. gauge and I used the port on the front of the manifold where the line feeds water to cool the turbo. Home depot carries a brass fitting that is tapped on the side. (Its made for feeding water to your ice maker in your freezer) Put your probe in the end and use the side port to feed your turbo. I used a brass pipe instead of the barbed fitting on the side because it had a little bigger ID and I didn't want to restrict any water going to the turbo.

Eric,

That might work perfect 4 me, because w my new PTE turbo, I will not be using the Turbo H2O connection. Now I gotta find where that connection is.
