My dad had his 63' Corvette blasted when we started the restoration. The soda did a good job stripping and wasn't too hard on the fiber glass. You do have to wash everything off with tap water. The Chlorine in your water takes off the baking soda. You also don't have to clean up afterwards if you use soda. I am not familiar with using plastic beads. Might work well, but you may want to test the plastic media on the cladding to make sure it doesn't beat it up. The urethane is pretty old now and it doesn't seem like they had great UV stabilizers back in the early 90's because the stuff is quite brittle.
Only complaint about using soda as the blast media, there was quite a bit of soda left in the interior. We swept everything out but it that stuff gets everywhere! I was putting the dash back together and found it all over the place. But it neutralizes odors!!!
