Help with stock control arms & torsion bars

I decided 6 months ago i was going to ditch the stock torsion bar setup and do the budget coil over setup, after many months of speaking to others i've decided to keep the stock torsion bars, problem is I dont know where the hell to position them in the lower control arm since i ripped everything you can think of apart, does anyone know if there is a diagram or instructions on inserting the torsion bars to the control arm. I haven't had much luck trying to reposition them...:rant:

Can someone move this to the suspension section my bad!

they only go in one way, i tore mine apart having no idea what i was doing and mine turned out just fine, upon reassembly

the clocking on the bar vs clocking on the prokchop is set so you put the bar in the control arm, then slide it forward enough to slip the porkchop in slide it back into place and walla there you have it. finish assembly and enjoy

My pork chops seem like they are fused to the torsion bars, i've tried for hours to get the two separated, so i ended up pulling the whole cross member backwards with the torsion bars connected out of the lower control arms

try sprayin a ton of wd40 on them and pound on them with a hammer. if you are just completely unsuccessful with separating them then i would just reassmeble in the same manor. install control arms, if not already done, install torsion bars and crossmember from the rear, i assume thats how you pulled it all out and position the porkchops to where they look to be as close as they can to being able to get the adjuster bolt bracket up in there.

it won't fit right in since you will have to apply opposite tension to the bars to get the small bracket back in, have somone stand on the control arm, with a decent amount of weight you should be able to slide it back in under the porkchop and then thread the adjuster bolt in.

i hope i didn't confuse you to much, but it only really goes to together one way as long as you pay attention to where the clocking of the pork chop is when you put the bars back in the control arms.

Don't forget to look on the ends of the torsion bars. It shows which side they are for and which way they are supposed to twist :2cents:

YOu shoud try and get one of these clamps, it will help alot.

this is where the key shoudl be sitting completely loose

the adjuster bolt key goes in the open hole once it's clamped all the way up, i used a 1inch socket and a ratchet, it goes quite easy.

i took my old torsion bars out and put the new ones in earlier, did it in 1hr 10 min with cleanup

Well I was able to get the torsion bars back in and mounted, the only problem is if I put them into the control arms correcty, the position of the arms just seems to low to me, it might just be me, so ill post a pic, also how far in do people usually tighten the adjuster bolt on the pork chops? Mine are about 3 -5 threads out.
