I'm new here, girl from Slovenia - EU, and I'm about to buy Ty in spring-summer time.
For now, collecting all infos I can get bout it.

Currently I own Mercedes SLK 230 Kompressor, and beside it I need something lil bigger..
thats just my excuse for myself for buying Ty :D
beside that I fell in love with it, shape and the engine.

Anyways,
I hope I may annoy you guys from time to time with pre- and fresh-owner questions.

I'm wondering, for example, what are the regural Ty problems?

Re: hi to all

Hello :D
Good luck with your purchase.... most issues with these trucks arise from lack of maintenance, or modifications made with no change in the truck's tune.

Depending on how they are driven, and modifications made, they can require more frequent tune ups (fluids, sparkplugs, rotor, cap, sparkplug wires).

The vacuum lines, in most cases, need to be replaced with a fresh set and a person should change the fuel filter right after purchase just to inspect for any crud from the tank that may have been trapped.

Post pics if you purchase a Ty!

Re: hi to all

lol, I'm sure gonna keep Mercedes :D maybe forever.

I got it for finishing school with very good results.
So it has much bigger value for me than it would have for someone about to buy it..

Re: hi to all

Hello and welcome to board! Good luck on your pursuit for Ty ownership! When you do find one you're interested in please post the pics/info/questions/concerns on here before you make a purchase. The guys on here are extremely knowledgeable and we will not steer you in the wrong direction.

I do not want to stereotype about women (or people who drive mercedes) but Tys are not just a car you throw gas in and keep driving the hell out of to get groceries etc. They are great trucks but they do require maintenance and special attention to keep them performing reliably and at their best. I wish you luck.

P.s. We don't get many girls on here, post a pic yourself on the "post a pic of yourself" thread...

Re: hi to all

hey, yea, i kinda understand that it isnt just to get hell outta it, lol..
I will take good care of it, don't worry about that at all.
Having turbo owners around me, my boy owning nissan 200sx almost st.3, so I understand few things about it and I am more than willing to learn how to treat turbo ride.

anyways, please just dont say a word about woman driving that kinda cars, I'm alergic to that ;)
I used to have 1991 Camaro and had more than enough talking about that kinda things..

and yea, thats why I'm here, to learn from guys who knows the most about Tys

Sure, I will post some pix in there, np
