Hey Bill, how much further can you go on the timing/boost with that extra compression? is 25-30psi 26deg realistic? if it is "ohboyyy" that thing is gonna be crazy. What tranny do you guys run?

TIA

bigger compression equals less boost and has it's values. you boost it till it knocks and that's it, no matter what ya got. only thing as i see it is if you used higher compression ya gotta always use the good gas as opposed to lower compression and higher boost allows ya to use worse gas as long as ya keep the boost down. i'm not saying i'm absolutely right. i'm kinda askin if i'm right on this?

personally, i'm looking for some sandpaper and want to make my paint look like that. looks good

and for what it's worth, we're workin on getting our stage 2 motor which we just go back from anderson put in for the spring.

As far as an update, we have not had the truck back out, as soon as we get a space open in the shop we are installing a cage, we did finally put 83# injectors in it and knocked the duty cycle way down.
For the gas, we set up the program to run on pump gas (93octane) with 18# of boost at LOW timing and it is still real fast with no knock.
The trans is still a 700 and living for now, it has a TCS billet 9/11.
We can definately tune for 30# of boost but I am a little leary of pushing the stock block and crank to that limit, something will break sooner or later!

but I am still not sure how much the crank will take before it breaks

so do you think the stock crank is the weakest link here? what about the block? a stock, converted, four bolt main...which one would give first? i've heard of both blocks and cranks failing...

thanks,
