Houston Area Sy/Ty's

[LIL QIK]

This is my attempt to kind of keep track of all the local Sy/Ty's in the Houston area. Basically anyone that would ever possibly want to get together at any car meets, cook outs, track meets or just get togethers...... it would be nice if you would check in here. I would like to try to keep a running list of the Houston guys. And when I say Houston guys....I'm talking anywhere from Katy to Humble to Baytown to Alvin and so forth. Big area people....lol.

The list is really open to anyone that thinks they'd be willing to make a trip to the Houston area for a meet. These really aren't major meets or anything....more or less gatherings to make a showing at local car meets....or trips to the track and so on. But if you're willing...the more SyTy's the better!

Almost done LIL QIK got the syclone 95% done, and when you get yours done, you and me and john and lance, and who ever else need to get together, for something!!!! by the way how is the BEAST! coming along, that gonna be one nasty truck when you get it running and don't forget me when you get it running, want to see it on the road:tup:

Truck is definitely coming along. Should be able to make some major progress on it in the next few months. Hey...be sure and have John and Lance touch base here. But yea...can't wait. I'm starting to get really excited. Been handling a lot of the little things that needed to be taken care of. Damn near looks like a truck again...lol

Hi guys, im new to Houston just moved down here January. Anyways I drove down here from Chicago and brought the Ty with and it would be cool if I got to meet some of you guys.. would definately like to check out that build on the #1900 Syclone. Looks sick! Im just west of 610 right along 10, its definately been boring so far so Im down for anything as far as a small meet. thanks guys.

Cool....welcome to Houston Saul. I think you'll find plenty of action here in the Houston area. I'm just over here in the 6 and Westheimer area. Not too far away at all. I'll try to hook up with you soon. As of right now most of my Friday and Saturday nights I'm still in the shop working on the truck. But every once in a while I say screw it and go out to some of the local meets. I'll try and remember to grab you up and introduce you to some of the guys.

You know I'm in, just need to get some more time off. I got oversprayed at work and I'm trying to work out something with the insurance adjuster. Most everyone I know got $4000.00 or more. That would be a new set of cladding and I'll through in a paint job to go with it. My truck is pretty low to the ground and is starting to make some noise when I make a sharp left turn. I'm goign to pull the front diff out and see if it has a bad CV. I hate noises. LOL Where's your shop so I can stop by someday.

It's not a real shop so to speak. It's a 14'x70' storage that I pretty much use as my shop. So we just call it "the shop". It's basically there at the League City Storage. I'm usually there every weekend. Marty's been there incase you guys are ever in the area. We built a 12'x24' storage deck to keep all the extra parts on and such. That way I still have room for 4 cars down below....lol. Nothing fancy....but it gets the job done.

Let me know as I frequent the Spring area during the summer, we have relatives & friends in that area. Didnt get to see anybody the last time I was down. Hoping to see y'all this summer.

So I went out for a drive last night hoping to find a decent car meet to get to know some people and came across one on westheimer near I-10... lots of imports and possibly the most annoying thing I've ever seen in my life; these cars called "slabs" ?? cars with big rims, lambo doors and loud systems that drive around the lot for an hour or two swerving and almost hitting one another?? really killed the atmosphere. where are the sophisticated meets!?

There is usually one on Westheimer that's more the older crowd. Sounds like you ran into all the pimp daddy cars. Anyone....the old muscle cars and new muscle cars usually hang on Westheimer, there's one on 59 South by the fountains and another in the League City area. I'll try to find the normal location for these meets for you incase you want to try again. I'm usually hanging out across town in the League City area. Some really nice cars....really nice people.....just a better atmosphere.

I found anothe Sy a few blocks down the road from me and 4 streets over from him is a Sonoma GT. The guy with the Sy doesn't speak good english but the kids with the Slonoma probably do. I'll try to get the info on them for us.

hey nitrous, i saw your post in interest for cladding from rockford racecraft. Ive inquired in some pieces from them before and he basically got ahold of used pieces.. im not sure he has any new ones. kinda sucks. If your looking for a whole set theres a guy in arizona that has replica fiberglass kits.. ill try to find his contact info

I've got a block that's already had all the work done to it. It sitting with the billet caps on it already. It's a .040 over bore. I also have some LB4 heads that have all new valves and springs and I also have flow numbers somewhere. If you're interested...pm me and we can meet somewhere so you can scope them out. The only reason they're just sitting around is I got rid of the Ty that i was going to put them in. I've got almost a grand into the block...I"ll be wanting 500. I paid 1300 for the heads because they were supposed to be flowing more than they are....but they are freshly gone through....so I will want 500 for those as well. If you're interested....pm me.

I'm down here this week visiting family. I got to visit w/Erik the other day & get to see Jack & the TYs tomorrow. I sure miss you guys. It's sure not the same dealing with the CO peeps up north.
