coilovers.

or get underneath the truck and loosen the torsion bar bolts.. don't expect the ride to get better though.

a cheaper fix would be to let the air out of the tires :) can't you lower it with the torsion bars too? oops, I see smaug already said the torsion bars

So loosening the torsion bar bolts relieves some tension i'm guessing, so wouldn't it be softer front end ride?

it lowers the front.. the lower you go the closer to the bumpstops you are.. which means the more you bottom out.. if cali roads are smooth and there are no pot holes you shouldn't have any problems..

fyi to make it easier, loosen the bolts while the front end is jacked up..

as for finding the bolts, they are the only ones associated with the torsion bars in the middle of the truck.. between the cat converter and the muffler.

Nope, no tension is relieved when you loosen the bolts. The tension is determined by the weight of the front of your truck. To get a softer ride you would need torsion bars with a lesser spring rate.

With everything else you have done to that truck I would just order up some coil-overs if I were you..

Mine was lowered by loosening the torsion bar bolts.

Yup worked for me! thanks guys, I guess since I lost some waight in the front it tended to lift it higher, all fixed. No coil overs yet, working on break up grade first and my meth inj too. Thanks again guys.

Don't forget to have the alignment checked Dean... shouldn't have changed much, but probably a little.

Re: How do I lower my front

Before I had the torsion bars adjusted I put in a set of lowering torsion keys from Belltech (BEL-3922). This allowed me to lower the front while keeping clear of the bumpstops. Drives the same as it did before, just lower.

I didn't compare them myself but the guy who did the work for me said they deffinately helped to lower the truck. I only got an inch out of them though. I think like the rear springs when Belltech says 2" drop you really only get about an inch out of it.

Do you have any pix now that you've lowered it? I'm thinking of doing the same with mine.

Actually no I don't. Haven't gotten around to new pics with it leveled out. It looks ok though. I thought I'd be more impressed with it level but for some odd reason I'm not:roll:

Maybe that front end a wee bit higher grew on me.
