How do you guys think we would fare to the 2003 Cobra's?

Got Boost?
NOt sure...I've seen 1 insanely fast 03 cobra, and have heard stories about a few slow ones...
But the only one I've seen in person, would slaughter me..

Ive already raced one from a dead stop you will leave him but it will catch you quick, from a roll better bring a bag so you can hold your ass after he hands it too you.

I am not sure yet, I wanted to get a datamaster before taking her to the track, I have only had her a month. They guy I bought it from said he was running mid to high 12's, do you think that is possible with my setup?

The truck feels VERY strong.

I guess it depends on what you got.I'm not scared of'em, cause I've pulled on LS1's from a 30 roll :D

Going to be a toss up....
you may get him in the 1/8th mile, but i think it if is a healthy cobra....he'll fly past you

Once again, depending on the driver of the other car (and yourself) it could be a slaughter (either way) or it could be close..

Just like the debate against LS1 Camaros, C5s, vipers etc..

IIRC the new Cobra's are trapping with more MPH in the quarter than a Z06. I've seen one with a pulley go 119mph, which is Viper territory as far as top end MPH goes.

I've also read a few posts on a few simple mods (ECM burning, intake, cat-back, pulley) pulling out another 100rwhp from them.

With a good driver, their 0-60's are better too.

Pretend like you don't see them if you run into one...even if you have a medium sized turbo...if you do, keep the race to an 1/8th mile.

I can't wait for the chance to run the new cobra. I really wouldn't worry a whole lot if your truck runs right and you have some basic bolt-ons.

I think the cobra will like my taillights!

It would depend how good the cobra driver is , if he cant drive well a good running sy should win in the stoplight wars, at the track the cobra would most likely take the win.

The dam things are making 400 plus rear wheel hp, i dont think anyone should be ashamed to lose to that car, it is bad ass. I would certainly like to run up against some of them.

a buddy of mine has one with 4000 miles on it he put on headers (long tube), xpipe and , cat back, chip, and opened the air box 498 hp at the wheels the car ran a 12.7 at milan, till they told him not to come back without a cage.

I'll have to see what times they are running up here at my altitude.

They are definately nice performing cars and should be a good race in any case. Most drivers aren't good enough to take full advantage of the extra horsepower so its the luck of the draw.

I ran one from a roll here on las vegas blvd(the strip), it was from a 35 mph roll, i punched it and didnt get a downshift so my boost came on a little slow, I heard him downshift and he broke his tires loose, then i heard His blower wine come on strong, and he walked on me, i know i would have faired much better if i was going 25mph and got the downshift to first, but oh well, next time :D

FWIW - In this month's issue of Mustang and Fast Fords magazine they put on a pulley from a Lightning, ET's, took out the air cleaner and got a best of an 11.6. They claimed a best of 12.0 with a pulley and no air filter on street legal tires, everything else was stock.... I also think they got over 400 rwhp and over 400 ft/lbs of torque.

well one thing is for sure you arnt gonna see alot of them around because ford is asking a hole shit load of money for that car. so usually if you see someone driving one they are probably not going to be looking to race you. they will probably be to busy talking on their cell phone to their stock broker. :)
