hp guestimate

how much boost do you guys run on 4 bolt blocks with raceware hardware? What do you think these heads will be capable of hp wise at max boost? Im not ready to start my motor yet but im setting the car up and trying to decide if i really need a better crank. I know it depends on cam and enake and exhaust- Lets just prentend all thats right- Is there a formula to figure what these could be capable of? thanks

Let me guess your coming from naturally aspirated car? Heads play a part of the equation of hp but not nearly as big part as naturally aspirated engine. If your to stick them on a stock truck at stock boost it be lucky to run 12's, I don't think Ed Hess 9.9 Engine's head even flowed that well.

yea right now they are in a carbed nitrous set-up. Where can i find information on combos or formulas to figure out what kind of boost im going ot need to make a certain power level- thanks

That's a good question.
What did Ed have on his truck running 9.9? Stock OG heads?

Correcting to 28 inches is not all that accurate.
Is the flow bench machine too small to test @ 28 inches?
Also what heads are these? year?

I don't know about a magic formula, but I can give you some loose facts. My truck has late model vortecs, which flow around 230cfm if I am not mistaken, using a GT35R turbo at 18psi. It made 492hp/528ft lbs before tuning and break in. And I have a stock, but internally balanced, crank with 4 bolt mains.
From what I understand the stock crank and four bolts can take about 550 hp max.

Correcting to 28 inches is not all that accurate.
Is the flow bench machine too small to test @ 28 inches?

dont know why they were tested in 7 inchs- and the heads came off a 95 i believe
