HVAC fan heater blower speed controll

After loosing the fan to my heater this december, I hopped into chat while searching the boards. DaveP was kind enough to give me a shakedown list on how to trouble shoot. Thanks Dave!

The fan controlls are on the firewall on the passenger side. The relay is silver and only a few inches in size with 4 wires hooked into it. The main power is supplied by a purple wire on a spade terminal connected to the motor itself. My problem was solved with a squirt of lube and a wiggle on the purple wire. Below is what Dave told me to do.

Take a jumper wire from B+ to each of the wires on the resistor. With mode lever in "off" (bottom position). If no speeds. Remove purple wire from motor. Touch jumper to motor term. If nothing, leave jumper on motor term. Wiggle ground wire under screw on motor. If nothing, remove rubber hose from motor. Look inside, and try to spin the copper thing (commutator) with a screwdriver. If it starts running, the motor is bad. For the relay: Remove connector from relay. Jumper red to purple. Motor should run. Jumper purple to blue. All the speeds on the dash EXCEPT HIGH should work. If you can't get speeds from the dash, the fan switch is bad. But unusual for all the speeds to stop.

I'd try in that order. Motor, relay, dash switch.

Anything to add or correct feel free.
