you said the issue was not compression, did you do a compression test? what were your readings? did you do a cylinder leak down test?? also how did you test your vacuum when you got the 15 in/hg reading? have you tried checking your timing chain for excessive stretching, or valve lash?? maybe somthing to look at maybe not just my :2cents: kinda one of those things that would be easier to diagnose while actually having the truck in front of me.

I had the same exact problem Evil did and it ended up being my ECM was toast. It would run much better way after TDC below the Zero mark. Got a new ECM and my mark completely moved. I was perplexed since the tan wire was disconnected each time I timed it.
You need a SCANTOOL like datamaster. RIght now you can't tell what the hell is going on. You need to have one of these. If your Knock Retard is above 3 degrees then you have a problem and it could be many things. Timing is usually #1 followed by Cap, Rotor, Wires, Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter. You really need to get the scan tool to see where you are at. Then I would advise making 1 change at a time and checking it. Making too many changes at one time can compound the problem. Lastly,.... Don't do any WOT runs until you have the scan tool and know what your Knock Retard is. Until then just baby it.
These things can drive you to drink. It took me a long time to get all the kinks out of mine after the dealer messed with it right before I took posession. I took my time. Now I am running 20 PSI with 0 KR. Just be patient and you'll get it figured out.
