I was on ebay looking for MSD 6A ignitions and came a across a MSD 6BTM that was just listed like minutes before I looked at it (still had 6d, 23h left). It was priced at $35 BIN because the timing adjustment knob had been cut from the harness. I emailed the guy (99.9% positive feedback) and asked if it was in working condition, and he emailed back almost instantly and assured me it was working, and that the only problem was that the knob was missing.
So I called MSD tech support to find out if JUST the knob was an available part. After sitting on hold for 15 minutes, sweating bullets beacuse I was sure that somebody was gonna snag the box, I got a techie and he told me there was no part number, but the knob was available, it was $26 and they could ship it. I told them I would call them back if I needed it.
I log back onto ebay, and the box is still up for grabs. I BIN for $35 + $5 shipping.
I call MSD back and sit on hold for about 10 minutes this time and get "Joe" at tech support. I tell him I need the knob, he asks me my name and address, I tell him, and he says, "Great, well get that sent right out".
Me says "Uhm... Dont I need to pay for the knob somehow?".
Joe "No, dont worry about it, its comped".
So, $40 total for a working (hopefully) MSD 6BTM.

Moral of the story. Joe at MSD tech support ROCKS.
