I went to go for a spin around the block in my Ty. The red light came on: Check gauges!!! I look and everything looks normal, except for a low battery (not even half way on volt gauge)...went straight back to home. Pop the hood and boy was my engine HOTT...then I finally realized my loud ass IC pump wasn't working. The fuse is good. What causes the IC to act up, any suggestions???

figure out why your battery voltage is low. check battery / alt with volt meter.
also check your electrical connection on the pump. I think your install was mediocre at best
There is a 3 pin connector over by the brake booster hose. Goes down to the CCHE. Power, ground and low turbo coolant sensor. Check for 12v or power on the orange wire with your key on (applies only to hot wired relays) if good then its your wiring or your pump that took a dump.

Went to check it out, power was good. So I pull the lower CCHE, turns out the pump failed.
I'm had the Harbor Freight industrial pump conversion. It leaks at the base of the pump, cheap seal. This is the 2nd time this happened. Is it because of high heat?
What other pumps are you guys using?

since you aren't so concerned with the stock location/replacement thing, maybe try the bosch pump since it is cheaper then a johnson pump and flow 317gph.
fyi harbor freight = junk.
shouldn't be surprised it failed.... but you could probably buy 4 of them for the price of a good pump
Call me in the AM to set up a time to finish the tune. i can show you that bosch pump. i use it as a water pump for the motor on my rhino.

Yep that happend to me all the time when I took it to the track, I just taped on it to get it going again, gets hot & expands inside the pump. Once I put the ice bags on top of the IC it was fine until after my next run.

Try and just hit it with a wrench or sumthing, thats what happened to mine, got stuck
