IC Pump wows

I've owned my sy for almost a year now, and have gone through 2 intercooler pumps so far. I just recently bought a new one but have been curious if some of the mods that the prevoius owner made is the cause.
The air intake has been re-routed and is now located on the passenger side. With this they took out the overflow resivour for the intercooler and radiator. Did this mod ruin the priming operation for the iC pump? Any help?

Are you buying the stock replacement ones or bigger aftermarket ones?

Moving the overflow box, shouldn't have any effect on the pump itself, I ran mine for a while with the overflow welded shut on the I/C and had no problems.

Are you running it constantly or letting the ECU turn it on? Maybe a voltage problem? :dunno:

X2 low voltage will kill electric motors.

You have a guess on what's too low for the pump?

So too will little or no coolant flow. The circulating coolant is what keeps the pump cool. If you have a leak in your system or a kink in one of the heater hose (very easy to do) that will kill a pump in short order too.

no coolant will kill it too. Basicly the same way. It will overheat. Low voltage will heat up the motor two. I would thing the coolant would kill it quicker. Open the upper cap and look for flow. Should be obvious there is movement in there. Put a volt guage on the pump wires. Not shure the % thats bad for a 12v pump. I know that just 13 volts off on a 208volt motor will kill it.I would guess anything below 11.5 would be bad.
