I looked at it about 2 months ago, and the price was just to high(flyer said 16,500, autotrader said 15,000 and he said he would come down to 14,000 for it). its got 82,000 ish miles on it, fair amount of modds(ATR exhaust, aquamist W/I, Greddy type s bov, autometer gauges, AFPR, the old ultimate chip) but the guy that owns it really has no idea what the hell he's doing when it comes to tuning. He has a some sort of scan tool, but was clueless as to some simple shit wrong with the truck (IE he said he didn't like the greddy bov beacuse it "doesn't work", but as soon as I drove it I could hear the compressor surge and could tell its just adjusted to tight.) The price was way too high for an 82,000 mi truck- but it does appear to be in good contion. Problem was, it hasn't been registed for about a year. I got to drive it maybe 1-2 miles, just a little on the freeway, and 1 good awd launch. With his wife following us in her little pos car trying to keep up. The front end felt "loose" like it needed work. Since the price has come down to 13,000 list I've started thinking about it again. If I can get it for 11,500 or 12,000 even that would seem about right to me. So, what I plan to do is offer this guy to pay his registration to make it current and liscenced (if I buy the truck, I would have to do this anyways, and if its already been done in the last three months you don't have to re smog test it) if he's willing to let me take the truck for a day, and let me see how it really feels. I would like to test it out going up a local canyon, see how it handles. Have Liberty syclone come over and check it out, bust out the scan tool and check it, do a compression test, take it to a local mecanic and get it up on a lift so I can look under it. I would probably leave him my Talon to drive for collateral. My question is, what do you guys think of the truck, the price, and my idea? am I asking too much?
