If I can get the time to verify it, is there interest in a very low dollar (Do it yourself A/C delete how to?) It would require a trip to the local wrecking yard. If so I will list the parts you need with pictures so you will know what to get. I already have the parts to verify it, But time is the problem, It will take about 1.5 hours to check.:dunno:

I have the pulley but planned to use it on the GT.
I'd be interested in a "do it yourself" write-up.
I am assuming that a different belt will be required...
How will this affect underdrive pulleys? Tentioner?

It will require a different belt and will not affect underdrive pulleys. I have a underdrive crank pulley on mine and on the truck that the pictures will be taken on. It looks like you will only need to buy 2 things.

1. The part from the wrecking yard.

2. A new belt.

the pulley delete kit is availble thru gm . it was added on pulley to camaros and such in the late 90's got mine for $ 25.00 roughly from gm parts direct . uses stock belt , and the rest of the a/c components u just have to remove . if you search a/c delete should come up with a part # for pulley .

Yes, this is the way I went with the GT (not installed yet) but I'm hoping to eliminate the clutter on the SY if I decide to delete the AC. I'll probably pick up the set-up just incase for later on down the road. I'm guessing it's just a replacement bracket with tentioner pulley.

The thing I dont like about this method is that you still retain the AC bracket which IMO is just plain ugly big and useless. I like the way mine is set up, nothing on the entire side of the engine bay.

Mine is like this as well, there is almost too much room with all that stuff gone.

you will need a non ac heater box, a new belt, and an adjustable link to tighten the belt. you will have to mod the bracket on the alternator side. :tup:

Thats it! only thing diff with mine is that i didnt cut the bracket as much, i left the original alt bolt hole intact on the bracket just in cas i wanted to change it back at a later date, :tup:

Please, all of you are missing the mark. This will replace the A/C bracket and everything associated with it using the factory parts. Is there any interest in this? That is all I'm looking for. It is really that simple.

Our inquiring minds want to know... it's tough to commit to a ghost product.
I'd really like to see something that uses a stock type tentioner rather than something in a fixed position. I have expressed interest and plan to pick up the necessary items to make it happen if it really works as well as it sounds in theory.

Post some pics even if you don't want to reveal the donor vehicle for parts.

I have been working on it and will have pictures soon. You are correct in that it is a different tentioner bracket only. This bracket just uses the 3 bolt holes in the cyl head, plus 1 support brace to the intake area. It still uses the stock Sy/Ty tenioner. I will post the pictures of it along with the parts # as soon as I can complete it and verify all the part #'s :tup:
