injector oring leak still

i started this else where but can't find it so i'll continue it here. i had a vacum leak and it was the injector orings. well i replaced them and when i squirt the ether at them it still idles up, so anyone got any suggestions.

Maybe the fuel rail is not sitting down far enough to keep the injectors where they belong and they are loose. I just put the stock injectors back in my truck last week and I thought they fit kinda loose. Now Im gonna check mine tomm. Maybe you should try elongating the holes where the fuel rail bolts down to the intake manifold, then you can push the rail down further to keep the injectors tight and hopefully not leaking. Just a thought.

i was thinking about elongating the holes or extra orings. weren't the sy fuel rails adjustable?

The SyTy fuel rail has a slightly elongated hole already.
It was fairly common problem if the rail was pushed down too far it made the injector ticking noise worse.

I put a drop of oil on the O rings to help them squeeze into the manifold and seal up better.
Maybe one of them did not fully seat.

The SyTy fuel rail has a slightly elongated hole already.
It was fairly common problem if the rail was pushed down too far it made the injector ticking noise worse.

I put a drop of oil on the O rings to help them squeeze into the manifold and seal up better.
Maybe one of them did not fully seat.

i used wd40 to seat them and they all seated nicely but the are a little different than the stock so i think that might be my issue. i'm gonna putz with it tomorrow evening. i got a couple ideas but don't want to admit to what i have in mind, it's kinda ghetto.

Cardinal rule: Never put an o-ring in dry. They will twist and leak, or cut. Just squirt a little motor oil on your fingers and lube them well before installation, both in the manifold and the rail. Once lubed thye should "snap" into place and not leak. :2cents:

yeah i learned that one the hard way, but wd or lithium spray grease work good

Are these 65# Mototron high impedence injectors? Are they skinny like an LS1 injector? I have 50# injectors and they are the same size as the stock ones. Does anyone else have problems fitting those skinny injectors in our manifold?

The injectors do not have to seat tight vertically. The o-ring seal along the side of the bung. Did you paint or powdercoat the intake and have paint or powdercoating inside the the bung or rail? Do all your injectors leak air or just one or two? I always put new viton o-rings on when installing injectors. Use vasoline or 30 wt oil. The slightest "skuff" will cause a leak.

well if they leak now i'm gonna toss the whole intake setup and do the edelbrock thing
