installing injectors

We got some 50lb injectors and Ultimate chip for the typhoon and we are going to install them this weekend. I did some searching and some people say to take the upper intake off and some say it can be done while leaving it on. Is it worth the ease of installation to take the upper intake off? I was also thinking about port matching the upper intake also. any thoughts from people who have done this? do i have to take the fuel rails off also?

the truck has a TE-61, built tranny, 3K stall converter, and the rest of the SyTy safety mods. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

when i put injectors in my truck the first time i pulled the upper intake off. You have to take the fuel rails off to put the injectors in. It is a hour and a half project if you take your time.

no need to remove the upper intake . but you definately need to remove the throttle body, coil bracket , and move out of the way all the driver side wiring . took me about 1 1/2 hr.

It would have been a lot easier to remove the upper intake but I didnt want debris going into the lower intake and therefore having me to remove that also

You don't need to remove the intake or the TB, or at least I didn't when I put the 50's in mine. I just took off the intercooler, coil bracket and unbolted the fuel rail, then I lifted it up enough to get the injectors out and the new ones back in.
