Junk yard. :)

I hate the "Intercooled" text on my intercooler... I'm thinking of having it surfaced...

Re: Is this stock???

It's actually kind of slow. My Fuel lines got bent when I was pulling my engine out, they caught in the holes on the Flexplate and I wasnt quite able to get them back into the right shape. So now they rattle against the engine or tranny or something, and it makes my knock sensor go nuts. On top of that, I have a stock turbo and only run 15psi because I'm scared of hurting my weak pistons and I only have access to 91 octane... Probably mid to low 13's @ 6000' elevation.

Im working on getting a TD06H 20G 12cm...

J/C about that 90* bend in the turbo exit pipe there?? Seems like that would really put a back pressure on the turbo causing it to have to work alot harder to make needed boost in the manifold. I'm no boost expert by any means, but j/c.

Re: Is this stock???

I'm no expert either, and I would tend to agree with you that its not the ideal setup, but the radius of that bend is sooooo tight that its near impossible to get anything larger than 2" bent at 90* in such a short space. And to be completely honest that pipe is worse than it looks. The people I had fabricate it didn't quite understand what I was telling them to do, even though I gave them a diagram with dimensions and everything. I wanted a 2.25" OD pipe to match the inlet on my intercooler, instead they made everything .25" too small. They fabricated it out of 2" and 1.75" where it necks down. The 1.75" neck actually slides down into the turbo, which I am sure is screwing up the efficiency of my turbo because of the change in volute shape. The 2" part slides into the intercooler as well. This is what it should have looked like.

As for the tight 90* elbow affecting flow, I have read the air under pressure behaves much differently than air under vacuum and that tight corners dont tend to have as much of an impact as they would if the air was being sucked in. Air under vacuum is subject to eddies and turbulence that pressurized air doesnt seem to be affected by. However, as you stated, being so close to the turbocharger, I suspect that the air rushing out and slamming directly into a 90* bend may have an adverse affect on the turbochargers efficiency.

Re: Is this stock???

I'm working on getting some Billet Fuel Rails and converting to SS Braided feed and return line. That will solve the problem instead of sticking a band aid on it. Not that I dont appreciate the input, I just would rather not change things I dont have to...

You couldve used this;

Its 2" OD stainless, and its $9 shipped to you. It shows a pretty tight radius. They also have 2 1/2" but not 2 1/4".

does that pipe have the cutout for a blowoff valve, and if so ill take one

Re: Is this stock???

No its just your run-of-the-mill S/S elbow, your going to have to weld it to a piece of striaght pipe anyway and that you could put a cutout in.

Re: Is this stock???

Mike, I moved to Arizona for a job, things didn't really work out, so I will be coming back July 1st. That sounds really great, I'd love to get it running in a tip top shape...

As for the 2" 90*, It may be tight enough radius, but I dont know about the 2.25" one. I really dont want to continue to use 2" piping, it seems too restrictive... Plus how well can you really get a clamp to hold on a curved surface?
