anybody else do this? i think a 2 tone re skin would be nice, with typhoon on the headrest like 92s. my driver seat is looking very shabby. looking for ideas.

i was looking at a seat at junk yard in a 2 door slt jimmy, but the damn thing was gone when i got there

my friend is always buying these cars with regular interiors and upgraded them to leather.

As far as I know, the skins will have to be custom made by an upholsterer.

I work for a Katzkin dealer and have called Katzkin about 93 and older Blazers with bucket seats. Last time I talked with them, they don't have a pattern on file and need 100+ orders and a pattern to make a run.

I'm actually heading to the upholstery shop on wednesday to see about getting some nice seat skins made for my truck. I hit up the local pick n pull yard last summer and got a nice set of seats with the rails for $22. That way I can reskin the Blazer seats and leave the Sy seats alone.

I like the idea, but apparently it got shot down from the outset. What kind of seats did you have in mind Ron? I was planning on doing some kind of racing seats at some point.

You might be able to take the seat tracks off of both, and put the Ty tracks on the HHR seats. If they will fit that way, it would probably be your easiest option. That is what guys used to do in S10s all the time. They used Cavalier seats though.

yea was just thinking if i used a seat that katzkins had a set for, but it would have to be more confortable than 80 year old man seats i got not...cavalier not so much

The seats in my HHR are very narrow and no where near as comfortable as the Ty seats; HHR SS seats are a different story.

I've also talked with Katzkin - I have their trims in my S10 and my Regal and love them - but was given the same response as above.

I've also contacted three other places that do trims and they don't have or can't match the factory trim style.

There is a local company to me that does custom airplane interiors. He's fixed seats in the past for my brother and I and has done phenomenal work, I'm just gong to have him redo my drivers trims (back and seat) and passenger seat trims. That said, it isn't nearly as cheap my $800 Katzkin in my Regal or $600 in my S10. :(

I wasn't saying to use Cavy seats, I was just saying the theory is sound.
