Keeps getting worse, HELP!

Well, I have replaced tons of stuff on my truck with plans of selling it on eGay, and it still has one problem that I can not figure out. The truck was idleing very high at start up, (around 2100 -2300 RPM) thn after about 6 minits, it would idle so low it died sometimes. sounds like a vac leak, but no leak is found. So I replaced the IAC sensor, hoping this would fix my bothering problem. No help, actually worse. Now was idleing at 3000 to 3500 RPM, never going down, not even in gear this time. So...I unplugged the batterey, plugged her back up, drove her for a little bit, then got better. I was happy! :lol: Then it died in a turb the next day, and started doing to the same idle at 3000, and dieing in gear this tiem... Help me please!!! I need to get this problem fixed so I can get some money from it!

I just bought one, but I'm sure I can come up with at least $5.00... :rotf:

But seriously, you need to get a scan tool plugged in if you've already checked the obvious (vac lines, wiring etc.). Could be your TPS is bad,could be an ECM, maybe an ECT. A scan tool will give you this data so you can compare it to what it should be under the operating conditions.
Any CEL?

Mine did that too. I swapped ECMs and it fixed the problem.

Wow, I didn't think I would ge that much, I'm rich!
Now, seriously, I tried to hook a snap on solus up to my truck, didn't hook up right. Didn't give me the correct vin numbers to put in.

you must have a scan tool to fix this problem. if not your just guessing. you cant set the throttle stop correctly without one.

does anyone have one of these close by. Shouldnt the solus work? I didn't see why it wouldnt.

What part of the VIN input didn't work?
Do you mean there was no communication? That's an indication of a bad ECM. Solus is a decent piece of equip. Should have worked...

hmmm...There was no communication. Maby this is my problem.

Time for a Tap Test. When things are running right try tapping on the ECM with a screwdriver handle or something like it. If the characteristics change then you need an ECM.
