lifter chatter???

i have some valvetrain chatter and i believe it sounds like a lifter that isnt priming all the way
are these engine prone to this or ???
its there sometimes and gone others

any advise would be greatly appreciated

Hum... Not normally.. no.

Ours did when we lost the bottom end and oil pressure.. but it wasn't the lifter's fault.

What's the history and stuff on this truck?

Are you sure it's valve train chatter and not the fuel injectors??? Fuel injectors are commonly noisy on these engines.
