lowered rear end 2" now I need some info

like the title says i lowered the rear 2" with som sowering blocks. but now the front sits up a bit higher, and i dont like it. sio how do I lower the front and how far should i lower it? and if i lower it that far how will the car handle?

I know I read a thread on here before about this, but the search yielded, no results
before someone says it SEARCH OWNZ ME

The only method (with the exception of coil-overs) is the torsion bars.

There are 2 bolts - one on each side - that you can 'adjust'. The amount of drop per turn is disputed - but the best is to turn equal amounts on each side until you are pleased with the results.

Be careful - the bolts can come all the way out.

You will need an alignment when you are done.

Well - actually you need to get an alignment because you dropped the rear.

If your alignment was on - a wheel change won't matter.

But, having it checked is cheaper than replacing 18" tires.

I wanna see pics.

as your adjusting them i would only go maybe 1 to 2 turns each. untill you get the disered ride height. After every adjustment on both bolts bounce the front end with your hands a few times to let the torsion bars settle. if not you will drive it and they will settle and it will end up being lower then you had adjusted and checked in the driveway. dont go to low it will affect how the fron end takes bumps.

adjust the bars equal amounts and use a tape measure to get the truck flat

You may have to cut your bump stops if you go too low. If not you will hit them frequently with a low drop.

Bell Tech makes lowering keys, but I am not sure if they sell them separately (you may have to by it in "kit" form)

the bell tech drop keys are the same as our keys. when i went to drop mine they told me their keys wouldn't do anything for me. i called aim and they said before they'd sell me a kit they wanted me to take my key out and trace it out on some paper and fax it to them so they could compare it to theirs

we have blocks and cranked down T-bars, and if you hit a bump too hard you will bottom out the rear end(not fun). as for the front, no complaints on ride or handling:tup: theres some pix on my site: www.freewebs.com/gkrcr882

I saw your lowering blocks when I was under there, but I did not take notice on your bump stops. They come out rather easy.

Pop them out and run them on the band saw. (sawzal, hack saw etc) Clip about 1" at a time.

I guess you can do that later as you have enough do do for now. :tup:

Did you get GM wheels 17s up front and 18s in the back or aftermarket? I got a set of GM ones but still have to put tires on them ...I was going to run a 275/40 up front and 285/35 in rear. I would like to run the 295/35 in the rear but then I would have to put a 255/45 up front to keep them almost the same height, and that is kinda narrow for a 9.5 in rim.

I am running 18's all around with 265 35 18's. I should ahve went a bit wider though. oh well

gotta be careful cutting the bump stops with a low drop. i know i only have about an inch of clearance between my tires and cladding
