i was wondering what it contains if there are just modified brackets and stock clipers and rotors i would like the brackets

anyone have one that they have put on or what???

yeah i need to call them there website doesnt have any stuff on it for the syclones but i work at a gm dealer and can by the rotor and calipers for cheap

i just though that maybe some one had installed them and new if or what the bracket looked like and if i could get a hold of them

Are you talking about F-body or C5, because both came with LS1's and both require a different adapter bracket. Both kits use stock caliper and rotors, but some have been working on using upgraded options.

I believe the adapter is custom made by Cris, so you'll have to get ahold of him.

i was thinking it was the f-body they are right at 12in correct? i dont know i have only heard it called the ls1 brake kit. you think he just sells the bracket only??? or does anybody have them?

The F-body's and the C5 both came with LS1's. The F-body kit is the 12" rotor setup and the C5 kit is the 13" rotor setup.

Yes he sells the parts to make it work without the calipers and rotors. If I remember correctly it was about $200-$250 for the brackets, mounting hardware, instructions, and S/S brake hoses.

And they just fit. You have about 1/4" clearance with the stock wheels and the F-bodys. BTW Cbr kit is great. Instructions, quality and support is A++

It was like $250 ish for install parts and no brake parts and $650 ish for install parts and brake parts.

Nope, no go on the 2wd, you have to have the 4wd spindle design, now if you came up with a way to switch over to the 4wd spindle and bearing assembly then it might work.

You could check into it to see how different the spindles are, plus sealed bearing units are so much nicer to deal with.

Without asking Chris, I'm 99% sure he doesn't. The problem is the way the spindles are engineered. There isn't any other manufacture ( that I'm aware of ) that uses the spindle design as the 2wd S-series trucks and has bigger then a 10.5" rotor.

See Chris's kit utilizes factory brake systems off other vehical's and adapts them to our vehicals, so there in lies the problem in your case. Your only option would be to contact a company that does big brake conversion kits ( Baer, Brembo, Wilwood, SSBC, ect. ) and see if there's anything for you vehical.

After a quick search I found a couple kits, there's a 12" and 13" kit at the bottom. Your gonna be in the $2,000 dollar range though :eek:

I just talked to James (pretty sure that was his name lol) from CBR today. Really helpful guy. Said he might have stuff ready to go by the end of the week, ran into a few problems. I'll be def. picking up a set from them, and will be using the Z51 caliper setup.

He also told me that some late model 2WD S10 blazers have a similar hub design to a 4wd, and with some minor mods you can use the CBR kit on a 2WD. I will be trying this later on my S10 when I do the frame/suspension.

Alot of this doesn't make any sence to me. I'm not attacking you it just doesn't make any sence

First, I've called CBR 10+ times and never talked to anyone but Chris.

Second, I've never seen any 2wd S-series trucks or blazers that had the same spindle/hub design as the 4wd's. They're completely different in all aspects.

All 2wd's were a coil spring front suspension with a servicable bearing setup. All 4wd's were a torsion bar front suspension with a non-servicable bearing setup.

Standard 2wd hub, bearing, rotor, and spindle assembly.

As you can see here, hub and rotor are one solid peice unlike 4wd where they're 2 seperate peices.

I don't have a actual 4wd S-series spindle picture, nor could I find one so here's a generic one.

Alot of people have mentioned kits that can change a 2wd brake system over to a 4wd style, but I'm yet to find any in depth arcticles on how-to-do-it. I can't even picture a bracket or any peice you could bolt on. The only thing I can come up with would be swapping everything over, spindles included. I've never measured to see if this is possible though.
