Mach Performance Turbo Blazer X at the TRACK!!!

Well we finally had a small spare moment in time to run to the dragstrip and run the Turbo Blazer X at the track.

Todays weather was:
Temperature: 59°F
Dew Point: 39°F
Humidity: 76%
Visibility: Unlimited
Pressure: 30.13 inches and steady
Wind: Variable at 1 mph

Our Blazer X weighs 3900 lbs with a 1/4 tank of gas, no Driver.

I made the runs today with 3/4 tank of gas and I weigh 190. So just on that note the Blazer X is over 4100 lbs race wieght.

We drove to the track...1-1/2 hours from home. (UBLY Michigan)

ALL RUNS ON THE BLAZER X WERE ON STREET TIRES, 255/45/17 Falken Ziex.

There were no boosted take offs...I would just sit and spin my Falken tires , so I left at pretty much an idle. All runs are on pump gas, BP 93 Octane. I had 9.8 psi in 1st gear, 10.5 psi in 2nd gear and 11.0 psi in 3rd gear. That is the way I have my boost controller setup. A/F Ratio of 11.2:1-11.5:1

RUN # 1

Launch rpm 1200, 10"hg on the Vac/Boost...NO TURBO SPOOL

Reaction: .583
60 ft: 2.053
330 ft: 5.696
660 ft: 8.739
1/8 mile mph: 80.619
990 ft: 11.323
1/4 mile E.T.: 13.629
1/4 mile MPH: 101.256

RUN # 2

Lauch rpm 1500, 7"hg on the Vac/Boost...NO TURBO SPOOL

Reaction: .719
60 ft: 2.028
330 ft: 5.651
660 ft: 8.679
1/8 mile mph: 80.531
990 ft: 11.254
1/4 mile E.T.: 13.545
1/4 mile MPH: 103.887

The history on our Turbo Blazer X is as follows.

2002 Blazer Xtreme
Stock 4.3L
Our Intercooled Turbo Kit
3.42:1
Built 4L60E, Stock Torque converter
3" Mandrel bent exhaust with DynoMax Race Magnum Muffler
32000 miles on my truck now...we drive it a little bit

With slicks on this truck and full boost launch I think we can do a low 13.XX with this heavy beast...who knows maybe a high 12.XX with 100 octane unleaded and a couple more PSI of boost.

If you do the math with Weight vs. Mph you will see that our truck is making almost 360 RWHP at 11 psi

Good times! Thanks for posting. Does the Xtreme have the 7.625" or the 8.5" rear end? With slicks and 2WD I wonder if it could possibly be as weak as the F-Body 10 bolt :-?

It still has the factory 7.625 in the back. That's why I'm a little concerned about about putting on slicks and doing a full 8-10 psi launch. I'm sure it will live for awhile, but how long nobody knows. Then again I have seen a few 2WD V-8 S-10's and F-Body's do high 10's with the stock rear end and it lives for a couple years.

I know the truck can do a high 12.XX with slicks...sure beats the original 16.58 it did when I bought it off the showroom floor

Does your "GovLock" cut open as often as mine? (60% of the time when in 2WD)
