Hey Ed,

Have you ever used this stuff?

I have a new set of cometics sitting here, waiting to be installed, and was wondering if I should use some type of sealant.

And do you know if some kind of sealer can be applied to the head gastket itself - both top and bottom? I know the cometics are a few layers, but I'll take whatever I can get.

apply cometics dry. You will want to use a small amount of silicone on the head bolts that go through to water. Also on the rockers studs if changing as well.

Cometic head gaskets

I have those cometic gaskets. According to cometic they should be installed "brake clean dry" Also, they want a mirror finish on the block and heads. I blew the first set that i had from them in less than 200 miles and they were nice enough to give me two new sets. They then informed me of the info above. I still plan on using them on my next motor.
