I plan on doing a motor build for my 90Sy and I need info on what kind of parts to get . I want to make 700 to 800HP and if I can get some help on a part list that would be nice.I was thinking is motor in Sy/Ty the same as a 350 but missing 2 piston or no? if it is can you use 350 rods and piston? Thanks for your time

Re: motor build?

As I posted in your other thread, you have should I say "Large" goals for a first time syty engine builder.

They are similar to a 350 yes, but not the same. Different rods, same pistons but that is the least of your worries to buy in that HP range.

If you have not had experience with a turbo motor before, keep in mind turbo motors make torque, a lot of it. So 600hp will be 700 or more ft lbs of torque. That will be hard on engine parts in a hurry.

Stock crank and block will struggle at those levels IMO. Not impossible but will be pushing limits beyond what even some of the best syty engine builders do (canadians for example).

Aftermarket blocks are hard to find, expensive and not made anymore.
A nice crank will be ~3k.

Re: motor build?

i got a brand new bowtie block and billet evenfire crank for this build if interested. 650hp is about the most power i would build using the stock components and that is with occasional usage, not 25psi and 600hp on a daily basis.

Say goodbye to an easy $15-20k if you want 800hp and it to last more then 3 wot's.
