My 93 Ty was totalled today

So, I'm minding my own business driving on the freeway this morning in the #4 lane, when a couple of kids racing each other, zipping in and out of lanes, and one of them goes from the #1 lane to my lane in about 1.5 seconds, slamming into me. He was trying to catch the other car and make the off-ramp at the last minute. He never even saw me. There was a semi truck in the #3 lane and I was passing by it. The kid ended up in the center divider. He was driving an acura integra, about 2" off the ground. Neither one of us have any injuries. I have a sore back and neck, hopefully it will be better tomorrow. I went to Kaiser, but was going to have to wait 2 1/2 hours. So I decided to take care of the truck and insurance first. If I'm still sore tomorrow, I will try to go back in the morning. Oh well, I had this truck for 14 years, so I guess it's time to buy something else. Notsure how to post pics of it, maybe someone can help me out.

Damn that really sucks :( . stupid ass kids racing in the morning, probably during rush hour :rant:

That is a good point. If there IS something wrong, you don't want to make it known a week down the road. The insurance company will try to make it look like it wasn't a result of the accident.

Sorry to hear that. At least you wernt seriously injured, especially with that semi truck in the next lane over. One of my friends just got in an accident yesterday afternoon on a side street. She went off the road and hit a tree head on and is in critical condition.

Yeah dude.. see the Doc. My mother was severely injured in a relitivly mild accident 10 years ago. it took a week of her neck and back being sore for her to show any real problems. She ended up with T1-5 shattered, Sryngomyilia, Fybromyalgia and a decade of some really nasty chronic pain. And if there is somethin wrong Sue the living shite out of the kid and/or his parents. 10 years later and moms still cant go to work..
So get yerself checked out man.

White Ty for sale in S. California, just saw it at a dealer today and took some pics, looks VERY nice. Bone stock. I don't have any idea what state you live in since you never posted it in your sig!
Sorry to hear, that fn sucks, never understood street racing in traffic, no clear unobstructed path then no go! That in and out of traffic is so fricking unsafe to every one around, what the hell gives them the right to risk your life and vehicle, ****ing kids. Sue em.

I'm very sorry to hear about your truck, glad to hear you came out relatively unscathed. But, as the others said, go to the ER, get checked out, and tell them every slight ache and pain you have. For your truck, if at all possible, have it towed to your place. Get all the collector price guide info & trucks for sale you can find and have it on hand for insurance haggling. If you have any trophies, pics of your Ty in shows, etc, show them that also,as well as any improvemnts , reciepts, it can help document the condition your truck was in before the wreck. Don't be quick to settle if you don't like what they offer, they will most likely low ball you first. Haven't seen pics, so don't know how bad it is, but you may want to consider buying it back from insurance if they do in fact total it. I bought my GN back when it was totaled for $1500, spent about $4000 getting it fixed back. Best move I ever did, car is rock solid and drives straight, even with major frame work.

Get a nice check for the totaled Ty then buy it back from them... that's what I did and came out way ahead.

Hey Dean,
I live in S Calif. Where is the Ty you are talking about? I saw one in Vegas with Calif plates. Do you now how many miles were on the one you saw? Do you have a number for the Ty? Thanks a lot and thanks to everyone for their input and recommendations. I miss the truck already.
