you guys underestimate how difficult it is to get a "group" picture of 60+ trucks..

it has taken hours in the past to get 30 trucks lined up.

yup, I was going to have them announce it that we were going to do a group photo on the track after the King of Nats racing was over, but as soon as I started walking over to the track official, I saw 4 trucks leave (2 on trailers) so at that point I was like f*ck it, no point in doing it now.

Maybe, but with some pre-planning, this could have been accomplished. There was lots of room at the track, the museum, and the road leading to the hotels. My :2cents:

Having been to a couple events I would like to add a few cents.
I loved the covered drag strip bleachers. I usually cook off after a few hours but that was a real plus.

The hotel parking lot was way too small. I normally take up two spots at the events so people can walk around and take pictures of wheels and such....and so can I.
Room service would also have been good for wives/kids who do not go with their only vehicle.

I knew nothing about Ryan's Steakhouse. Spending 28 bucks for two meals after the track was a bit much. It is hard to drink that much soda/tea to make up for the lack of appetite.

Maybe have a best license plate award?
Unique paint award?

Everyone put a lot of hard work into making the event great..... THANKS!!!

Still need to have the group photo on the list of things to do.

I survived 1450 miles without air conditioning or a radio. Barely.

One last thing..... no Swedish sour herring (sur strömming).

there isnt reallymuch i could complain about, besides the heat..lol. i have to give props to renz and jeff scott and whoever else helps in organizing this event!

Does anybody know what the final count on trucks were? How many SY and how many TY? Tech at track was great. Maybe even start a "Twins" class at track where each driver would drive down 1/4 mile with passenger and switch for the next run then take the two times and average them out.

What we have been doing here locally is a TAG team racing.

two people in the car/truck at the start line you take -off then stop at the 60ft clocks and the driver and pass switch. they swap positon by running around the back of the vechicle and tagging/slapping each others hand as they pass each other. Then you race to the finich line. The best thing about it is your on a dail in. so you get a partner that can cut a light and someone who can drive the finish line without breaking out:tup:

it's alot of fun trust me

I was indeed surprised to be asked to pull my Ty indoors. Pretty cool. Being a member of NCRS, I know that not many have had their Corvettes inside the NCM. But I've had my Typhoon inside. Thanks, Mike.

Thank Morgan...he mentioned you right away when i asked who he thought we should pull in that isn't just a 'black truck'

I felt the same. Our stocker didnt seem to be worthy of being with all those other SyTy's.

Get a text distribution list setup so that everyone knows about things at the same time for things like photo shoots, award ceremonies and God Forbid..

a car being taken from the lot.

Then we'd all be able to react rather than relying on rumour.

Pretty impressed with it all.

Well done.

I've been to a bunch of car meets locally and national car shows a few times. This was my first NATS or anything SyTy related event since my friend has owned his truck and I was very impressed with the people and the event so much that I want to purchase a Syclone of my own. Very well organized for the turn out of people.

The hotel and parking lot/accomodations:
Given the size of the group that was there, that hotel was a really good choice. It's very hard to gauge the turn-out when last minute events either disallow/allow someone to make it to the event.
In all honesty, if the most that gets out of hand is 5 1/8th mile street races with 14/15 second diesels when you have a group of 100 or so car enthusiasts I'd have to say that it was extremely civil and an immense showing of character of the group as a whole. Everyone there was extremely mature about the drinking and having fun when events weren't going on.

The issue of the trailers on the lot became a problem but the only way to curb that issue is to actually have the hotel staff or a designated person instruct where the trailers are to be parked for every person during check-in to the hotel.

The events:
Great events, great prizes, and again, well organized considering the amount of participants vs "staff".

The location:
Bowling Green was very nice. Obviously the turnout speaks for itself, great location geographically. My only nitpick, and it's at the city of Bowling Green rather than anything to do with the group/staff, put up street names where the lights are on your streets... for christ's sake turning at Number 4 or Number 2 and having two different street names on each side is unbelievably annoying.

The track, as a spectator:
That was freaking amazing. The local track we have here is extremely watchful when it comes to tech and the trust of the track management to the group for tech was something I never expected. Watching people with passengers sub-13.00 passes, shorts, and a list of other "NHRA rulebook violations" while at the exact same time feeling perfectly safe was awesome. Absolutely great track, great feel, almost grass-roots type of feel to drag racing. Covered bleachers was very appreciated considering the weather.

I'd definitely go back to BG for any event like this.
