Re: New DM Files...

I dumped in some 110 and it is running way better. ZERO knock under boost, stock and with the unlimate.

It seems to have poor boost control, what could cause this? It is pulling really nicly, now if I can fix the boost problem I think it will finally be up to par. :D

Anyway, check out these DM files and LMK what you think.

Stock Chip, high octane

Ultimate Chip, T116, High Octane

How much 110 and how much 91?

Poor boost control is normal for stock turbo/wastegate. Your boost control is far from steady, but it never goes too high so that is not causing your knock. It might just be that 91 is not enough octane, you might want to consider an alky kit.

Fixed the links.

I mixed 50/50, so 100 octane is what it equals out to.

Does anyone else have problems with 91 octane? I had an alky kit but never installed it, I wanted to get it runing right first...kinda ironic, if I just would have installed it, it would have showed me the problem a long time ago.

I have noticed the early shifting also. I was told that the early shifts are normal on these trucks...? It shifts to OD at 40 even if I am still accelerating up to speed. It kinda bogs the motor. How are the shift points adjusted on this tranny? Can I do it or should I take it to a shop?

The previous owner had a new trans installed about 20K miles ago. I have no idea what stall converter is installed. Is there any way to tell without taking it apart?
At WOT the shifts should be 1-2 4100-4300 and 2-3 around 4400. 3700 is way low. The shift points are not easily adjusted. They are controlled via the governor weights and springs, and the shift valve springs inside the valve body. If your 2-3 is consistently much lower than the 1-2 you may be able to solve it by changing one of the governor springs. Have you checked the TV cable to make sure that is set properly to begin with? Some shops forget to reset it after a trans install...

When you go WOT you should be in "D" instead of "OD" to avoid the premature OD shift at WOT which is common on these trucks.. Just shift it into OD when you are ready to cruise or ready to surpass 95MPH at WOT (racing).
