New Tires & Wheels

The tires on my factory wheels were shot so I was looking around for tires and found a set of Trans Am wheels with great tires the factory size. My first plan was to put the tires on my factory wheels and sell the Trans Am wheels. I bolted them just to see what they would look like and kind of like it but not sure. Whats everyone elses opinion?

The TA wheel are nice if you are looking for something that no-one else is using.

I guess if I take the TA wheels off they will be for sale along with my stock ZR1 wheels. My long term goal is a set of Chrome ZR1 wheels with 11" rears.

Are the Trans Am wheels lighter that the stock units ??? :roll:

I hate stock wheels but the TA wheels look too small to me. They don't look bad, just plain. I'd still take them over the stockers.

They feel a little lighter than factory wheels. I am still running them as of right now, still trying to decide which I like better.

My opinion, if you were going to use Trans Am wheels use the pre 02 WS6 wheels which are 17" by 9". Those would look nice on a Ty. Honestly, even the Trans Am owners don't like the 16" by 8" twisty rims you have. They swap those out alot.

I got wheels and tires cheaper than I could of bought tires for and they had less than 3k miles on them. Figured hey since they are mounted already less work I have to do and see what it looks like. They are kind of growing on me but not something I am in love with by no means.

They are painted silver met. so if you polish them it only makes the paint shine more. I could strip and polish them but I would rather do that to the factory wheels. I got one of the motors changed out and I think I might have found another for your cluster. I will txt or call you and let you know what happens.

If the T/A wheels were polished or chromed, it would be difficult to tell the difference between those and ZR1's, IMO. I like how the spoke is level all the way to the lip.

I am going to keep the factory set. Regardless of what wheels I put on it I will always keep the factory wheels. I am just that way. Hell everything I have done to it since I got I put the old parts in a box in the corner including the ignition coil that had never been changed. I pick up odd and end parts everytime I can get a deal and put up just incase one day I might need it. I think I have 4 HVAC controls and 3 or 4 Headlight panels with switches.
