Just like the title says I have a set of 3 FACTORY OEM GMC Typoon Decals in Gold and Black. They are in mint shape other than some minor Discoloring of the transfer tape on top of them and Some marking for location on the truck (I had 2 sets and they both had this so I think this done for the guys on the line but not totally sure)

Anyway I paid way to much for these at a swap meet ($100) and Id dont have my TY any more so before they get messed up Id like to see them go to someone who can use them. Ill take $75 or Best offer shipped and I do take pay pal @ SuperbGraphics@comcast.net just be sure to add 3% to cover there fee's and let me know that you paid and Ill have them out tomorrow or the day after payment is made.

THESE WILL BE SOLD TO THE 1st ONE WHO MAKES PAYMENT SO POST UP WHEN YOUR PURCHASE SO EVERYONE KNOWS and ask any and all questions you want I know there factory as the guy I got them from used to work on the Line when these were built and he is a very very good friend of my father.

are you sure those are NOS graphics? All 3 are different from each other. They look hand layered not printed.

The ones I ordered from the dealership were Avery also. Packaged in the same manner as DaveP's pics show.

Avery is the paper product...not necessarily who made it. I doubtaverythe company physically produced the decals, but I could be wrong

Just as Dave stated, NOS ='s New Old Stock.
Just something to add. An OEM supplier may have produced parts for the production line and service parts for you to buy over the counter at your local dealership AND that company may produce the same product and sell through a website or a restoration company. The parts may be advertised as OEM made or just as OEM and depending on the wording in the advertisement, one may think that it is a OEM NOS part BUT the part will have something different. Copyrights prevent the OEM from producing the same exact part (in every detail and specification). I have found that when an OEM makes parts to be sold elsewhere (other than your dealership) the difference in the part is something that lessens the quality and or the performance of the part. There will most likely also be cosmetic differences as well. Don't think that the OEM will reinvent the part to make it better. That's bad for business - in more ways than one.

In the muscle car restoration, this scenario runs rampant. Many parts are advertised as OEM Supplier made. Quite a few are now advertised as OEM reproduction. Don't think this is a duplicate of the born with part. Put the part side by side with a OE part or a OE Service part or a NOS part. You'll see a difference somewhere. An oil pan will not have the same baffles, the same number of welds on the baffles, the bell housing will acutally be made over seas and have imperfections that allow the flywheel to hit the inside, The decklid will be perfectly flat when it is supposed to have a bevel 1 inch from the edge (who can identify what trunk lid has that contour?), the T3 headlamp will have incorrect fluting ect...

EDIT: I went on the Avery Dennison website. These guys are huge. I think they did the whole graphic. Not just the "paper". I found some examples of labels such as the emissions information under the hood (our JJK) and sun visor air-bag warning labels. I've seen the AD logo on numerous labels in many, many GM vehicles over the years.

This is a copy-paste from the site: They say "graphics". Not "paper".

Every day, millions of people all over the world see Avery Dennison innovation in thousands of products --- from beverage labels and business cards to retail tags and vehicle graphics, Avery Dennison brands are everywhere you look.

I think the "Avery" brand is their paper products... they have other brands that they use for their other work.

I agree with you, NOS = factory parts in factory packaging.

Real Graphic concepts logos.NOT NOS; but definately real OEM and licenced by GM to be reproduced by G.C....Orignals were all printed on Avery paper with guide lines to help line up properly on the trucks.Side by side they are very similar if not the same.

Dave,

Your Syclone decal from G.C. was two layered vinyl? From this pic it appears to be black printed on red. Notice his decals have black as the backing, with Typhoon layered over it. Wouldn't it be the same if tje Sy decal was that way, with red layed on a black background. Just the oppposite of your example. :dunno: I've been wrong before, so feel free to correct me if that's the case.

I believe the Ty decals to be neither NOS nor Graphik Concepts supplied.

The pics in the first post look just like the one I bought from G C awhile back. Ty background is matte black with silver or gold on top in a 2 layer configuration. If I remember correct, Graphic Concepts did the prototypes for alot of GM decals in that era.....I "think" the people to talk to over there are Marylin and Shelly? Not 100% sure, it was quite awhile ago when i was in their shop....

I know what I bought, I know what is on my truck. I bought mine in '04 and what I picked up from thier shop in person (because I live 2.5 miles away) was a 2 peice layered decale. If it changed since then, so be it.
