O2 sensor threads

the guy who had the truck before me cross threaded the O2 sensor..made it a real pain to get out. I want to run a tap through it and clean up the threads..What size tap could I use??? I think the O2 sensor is 18mm? maybe NPT threads .....help please

If I recall right it is 18 X 1.5 MM.
