One Tiny Speck

I changed my oil today and decided just for the hell of it to cut open my oil filter and see what was inside. I carefully cut the paper out of the filter and looked carefully at it. I found one tiny shiny metal speck. Do you guys think it's something to worry about?

IMHO nope. Assuming no weird noises go ahead and drive the truck for, say, 50-100 miles and cut the filter again. See what you get and go from there.

How many miles on the motor?
Anything "new" like an increase in oil consumption?

75k on the motor. Just burns a lil oil on start up and the pressure is normal.

Get a magnetic drain plug. Any ferrous material will stick to it, instead of going through the oil pump, and possibly the bearings as well if the bypass is open. At the following oil change check the plug, and the filter again.

One speck is not a big deal IMO. Probably valve train. No biggie.
